As my personal relationships resume, so do my projects. Valorie and I are starting a new group, called Pop-Chop.Our first track should be done soon, and will be for download here. It chops 50 top-pop tracks into about 5 minutes.
Originally an Idea I had for a game, I figured I'd share it with my girl and use it as a tool to teach her how to use Cool Edit Pro.
Basically, it's a medley game. Name a line or two from a popular song and the last word or words in the end of the lines you say, have to be the same as the first words in the new lines from the next song. (confusing, I know, I'm not explaining it well.)
here's an example:
1st song: It's been a hard day's night, and I been working like a ...
2nd song: Dog. Cryin' all the time
Well, you ain't never caught a rabbit and you ain't no friend of...
the next song would have to start with "mine" or "friend of mine"
It's quite fun to play in the car or just when you're bored. It's even more fun to make collages that you cna listen back to and share with friends.
This first track is just going to be a basic 50 song collage. No real meaning behind it, just fun. However, we plan to get more scholastic with the next few tracks. Specific themes, changing rhyme meters, etc...
What we finish we'll hopefully put out as a CD and share with friends who appreciate sound collage.
Do you like the experiment? Please explain in the guestbook.
