Movie Night History
I can't believe it's almost been 4 years since the inception of movie night. This year the anniversary falls on Feb 25th (the original was the 23rd).

(I'm sure there are people who can contest this and add a million details, but...) The original idea started from hanging out with friends and renting movies on a Tuesday. One day Jenny (then Princess Nasty) said, we should do this every Tuesday. And so we did, end of Story. It's always been on Tuesday, it always will be on Tuesday, and I've been doing it so long that I figure that I'll always do it. It's become tradition.

The rules to movie night are simple...

Rent the newest releases possible (even bootlegs sometimes if they happen to make themselves available to us.) and watch the best movie last. (unless both are shitty, then it doesn't really matter. Sometimes we have a third feature (which can run us into the wee hours of the morning) and despite what some people might think (*cough* AndyTodd) It does not mean that this is the "Best" movie. The third feature is usually played in honor of a holiday or because no-one wants to go home as of yet.

At least one movie night a month gets kinda crazy, with people getting drunk and completely ignoring the movie(s) and it basically comes down to the REAL reason for movie night. It's a big FAT excuse to have friends over and spend time with them. (and watch the latest movies while you do it)

Now because of the "Latest Movie" rule and the fact that we've been doing it for 4 years, we have seen Quite a bit of what's on the shelves of Block Hollywood Buster Hastings (insert other name here) Video. And, I might add... to Andy Todd's dismay, we DO rent foreign films. (which means you have to read) And because of the "New Movie" rule we have also been forced to watch some PURE SHIT... all of which we have sat through and watched. Save for one.

One movie, out of *much* more than 208 has been returned to the video store. And yes, we gave it a chance... we watched it until people were rolling off of couches and screaming "TURN IT OFF!!!!!"

What is that movie, you ask? So that you might use it in government programs to torture spies in return for information that might destory even their own families? (And it WOULD work, believe me.) That movie is....

Master Of Disguise

Please... Save yourself and anyone you know. Let them know the horridness of this movie. Just to put it in perspective, we watched every second of "Battlefield Earth", we actually sat through "Hideous Kinky" and got slight (and I mean SLIGHT) chuckles from "Corky Romano". I could even see the humor in Dana carvey's late night TV show that was cancelled so long ago. But this is by far a completely painful movie experience.

I'm not asking for a refund.. (although I was allowed to excange it at my local Video Store) because I know that no matter how much I ask, I can never recieve those precious minutes of my life back.

Well, tonight we're watching "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and "Swept Away"... Hey, I'm sure they'll be much better than the previously mentioned film. Although, I have doubts to their GREATNESS. Although, MBFGW recieved quite an acclaim at the box office, and the Madonna movie is a remake of an Italian film... (I'm quite a fan of foreign cinema)

%%diary-sspiceg%% is here tonight for her first movie night, %%diary-btjenny%%, %%diary-maxquad%%, %%diary-princess-v%%, Andy Todd and two of his friends and whomever decides to walk in the door later tonight. It's always up in the air.

Well, that's enough for now, gotta go get ready for the double feature.
